As you may be aware, work has commenced in the suburbs of Griffith and Narrabundah on the nbn’s ACT Fibre Upgrade Program, which has been designed to deliver faster and more reliable nbn broadband to thousands of homes and businesses across Canberra.
It should mean better video calls, smoother streaming, more reliable working from home, and faster services for local businesses. The upgrade program will involve survey and construction works across Canberra, including at private properties. Specifically, nbn will be constructing a new underground network, requiring over 1500 kilometres of civil work in road reserves and public spaces.
While these works will create short term disruption such as noise, property access requirements and street impacts; they will also deliver long term benefits, by strengthening digital connectivity, supporting local businesses, and enhancing the amenity of our communities.
